Schneverdingen with two wins in the semifinals
TV Jahn Schneverdingen marches through the preliminary round with two wins. Defending champion TSV Calw gives the North Germans a tough fight, but then has to admit defeat with 2:3.
Defending champion TSV Calw now also starts the DM weekend. Their opponents from Schneverdingen are already in the semifinals with more than one leg up after a clear 3:0 opening victory. Similar forecasts could be found on the live betting sites.
On crutches on the sidelines instead of wearing a jersey on the court is Calw Verfach world champion Stehhanie Dannecker, who has suffered another cruciate ligament injury. She sees her team in strong shape - with Henriette Schell and Laura Glauner in attack, the southern Germans quickly lead 7:5. Schneverdingen reacts cool, immediately turns with Terry Schroder to 8:7. These are clear effect hits, because the Jahn also takes the next four points and thus the opening set - 11:7 by a six-point series.
Schneverdingen also has the second set under control. 5:2 and 6:3, then 10:4 is the score for the North Germans. They immediately use the first set point by Helle Großmann to 11:4.
After two very strong sets of TV Jahn, Calw now slowly finds its own strength. The set remained balanced for a long time before Henny Schell took command and brought her Calw Lionesses to 9:6 and 10:6. This time, it was the southern Germans who were able to convert the first set point.
The fourth set starts spectacularly. Terry Schröder is in trouble during a Calw break, but can immediately place her rescue ball out of reach in the Calw field. But the women in orange are now clearly on the same level. With a strong Henny Schell, TSV pulls away to 8:4 and 10:6. But the lead melts away, Helle Großmann brings her "Heidschnucken" close once again - 9:10.
Then Schell has had enough and bounces to equalize the set.
In the deciding set, things went really well for Schneverdingen again. Errors by the Calw women also led to a quick 5:1 for the Jahn team. Schroder with a bouncer - and the teams change sides for the last time at 6:2. Now the Heidschnucken have the Lowenrudel firmly under control - 8:2 and 10:4 are the stations on the way to the ultimately hard-fought group victory. Helle Großmann makes the 11:4. Calw has in the second group match against Moslesfehn a final match for the semi-final.
