Professor Poster shares his love of classic Psychedelic Rock poster art and artists every day, with very informative posts to his followers . Today’s poster, with the Mickey Mouse theme, caught Deadheadland’s eye! Enjoy!

On this “Poster From The Past” the central image is a black and white photograph of a man wearing Mickey Mouse ears and standing in front of a picture frame containing a picture made up of a large Mickey Mouse watch with a wire running to an electric socket in a wall with a checkerboard floor beneath it. His hands are open and extended toward the viewer. A snail is crawling out of a mouse hole in the wall. The man in the poster is David Johnson. He was very well known in during the Bay Area hippie music scene. He was known as Mickey Mouse and almost always wore his mouse ears.

It was 50 years ago on this day back in 1969, that Taj Mahal, along with the blues legend Buddy Guy and Spooky Tooth, were playing at the Fillmore West for four nights of dance/concerts. This is BG Fillmore poster number #192 in the series which was created by the very talented and local rock artist… Randy Tuten. It was printed only once.
